26th Nov 2024 - Today I heard the very sad news that one of my old kungfu teachers had passed away.

Grandmaster Professor Keith R. Kernspecht was the founder and head of the European WingTsun Organisation (EWTO), and it was from his hands that I received my 1TG and 2TG ranks (1st & 2nd degree black belts) in the Leung Ting WingTsun System, which I studied for around 13 years, including two training visits to Langenzell Castle, and the EWTO 25th Anniversary celebrations.

As with all my former teachers, I owe him a debt of gratitude for all his hard work and effort in passing on skills and knowledge. He could be intense and demanding, but my overwhelming memories are ones of warmth and enjoyment in training, and of laughter during meals and conversation.

RIP Si-Gung Kernspecht, and thank you. 🙏
